Hi guys,
Just lately I have been reading up on lots of blog posts about "competitive gamers ruining 40K for us all" and to be honest, they are all a load of rubbish in my opinion, but because I am a new member to the club, I would like to clear some things up about myself and the game I play.
1. All my Armies are fluff based: This is true! 4th and 5th edition I had a Black Legion army (ok Abaddon maybe was present at times, but hey he is funny). But yes, what ever army I want to build it is because of the fluff/ style of the army itself, I don't want to go down the route of 15+ Warp Charge, Farsight bomb, or AD lance but I am up for a lord of war battle if some one wants one. It's my army, my way.
2. Bring all your evils: Ok, so yes I play competitively, but not all the time. Every game isn't a "I must get 20-0 against my opponent" most games are "what happens if I try this...." or "Let's play defensive this time" In my last Tournament I came last, which was still an amazing experience for me and I blame it all on my Forge Fiends.... Haha no I don't, but they were undeniably doggy poo against anything they shot or bonked on the head, but back to the main post! I only won 1 game in that tournament yet all of them were completely brilliant! Every game I play, I ask my opponent how hes playing e.i. Training up for a comp, rolling dice and drinking beers, or anywhere inbetween and I do lay back on my game plan if you are there for a good time. Afterwards I like to say one thing I like about my opponents list, and one thing I would personally change - this would probably be a little wargear option of some discription, I would never say "This army needs 6 Centurions, Tiggy, and a Knight Titan" that stuff is out of order in all respects.
3: I'll let you know: If I am going to be bringing my vet list (it's still building) I will let you know. If I am bringing something new and probably a pants list, I will let you know, and to be honest... Bring anything you want to bring, bring your dirtiest stuff, what ever I am playing I will enjoy playing against it. It is funny watching my army collapse under the tread of Titans, numerous indeed
Hope no one is offended by this post, I love 40K and all what it brings, all I want is for me and my opponent (some of you lucky guys) to enjoy the game. thanks for reading
