I've been contemplating doing an End Times event and thought I'd check interest. Specifically, I was thinking:
1) Blood in the Badlands rules, so veteran units, campaigns, oh my!
2) Some special rules - Only one person can have each specific character, and if they roll the 'Dead' result, then that means they're eliminated. Yes, this means you might not want to throw max dice at a spell, since Nagash might just get sucked in to the warp and roll that 1, removing him for the rest of the campaign. We could also discuss other things like: Do you think that Warhammer Fantasy has resulted in two large guys at a buffet running at one another? Do we want to limit unit sizes or number of heroes in a unit or the like? We can do that. This would be a good place to discuss what we would want as house rules. Do you want End Times rules? Some end times rules, not other end times rules?
3) Special scenarios - Want to refight that epic battle in Altdorf? Want to summon Slaanesh in Ulthuan(And are playing one of the groups that actually attempts that), go nuts. We'll make it work.
4) The End Times will run over a set of 'linked' short campaigns. Someone dropped out? No problem. We'll be starting the next phase next month. Feel free to jump in then.
The set of campaigns would be:
"Things Fall Apart" - Winter.
"The center cannot hold" - Spring
"Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world." - Summer
"The blood-dimmed tides are loosed." - Autumn.
Depending on the previous winning faction, each campaign title will have a subtly different meaning. Maybe Chaos crushes all opposition in the Winter, in which case the Empire's splintering is far more serious and Altdorf doesn't come back. Maybe Tyrion runs rampant, in which case the Winds of Magic might not stay with certain special characters.
Let me know what you think.
